Over 20 years of bringing Edmonton the most knowledgeable wine staff in town!
More About Our Company
Since 1994, Liquor Select has been a mainstay of Edmonton’s independently-owned fine wine stores. We taste virtually all products that come into our store and select only the finest wine, craft and imported beer, single malt scotch and spirits based on merit alone. We hope you like our products as much as we do.
Here you’ll find wines that are pure expressions of grape, terroir, and the artistry of the winemaker. We believe that good wine is more than just another drink, unique in its ability to enhance the experience of good food, good company, and good times alike. We make it our goal to share these wines with you, to educate you about why we think they’re special, and to do everything we can to help you maximize your enjoyment of one of life’s great pleasures.
Our store and the products we bring to you are based on four core principles:
- Real Wine.
You can be assured that every bottle of wine in store is selected based on quality and integrity of the winemaker’s production process. You won’t find any wines here with sugar added as an afterthought.
- Real Selection.
We carry thousands of labels from around the world and we strive to present something unique and worthy of your attention on each shelf. Many wines here can’t be found elsewhere in town. From artisan wines produced in small batches to winemakers using the same tried-and- true production methods as their great-grandfather, stroll through our aisles to discover something different.
- Real Service.
The team at Liquor Select is a friendly and knowledgeable crew of passionate wine-lovers, scotch aficionados and craft beer enthusiasts. Whether you’re a new wine drinker wondering what wine to pair with your dinner to a seasoned wine-lover scouting for the next rare and collectible for your collection, we’re here to help.
- Real Value.
It’s a common misconception that good, quality wines are expensive. At Liquor Select, you may find a rare and unique bottle of wine crafted with love from a small-scale winemaker who simply has little budget for marketing and is therefore able to keep prices lower. For the same price spent at big-box store, you may get a generic mass-produced label that’s just “so-so” in quality.Whether you want to pick up a bottle of wine for $20, or are willing to spend more, you’ll find great value at every price point.
Fine Wines by Liquor Select was founded by brother and sister duo, Leon Luke and Nancy Fung who had a desire to share their love of good food paired with the perfect complementary wine. With over 4,000 wine labels from verticals of popular Bordeaux estates to the hottest wines from Argentina and Spain, Liquor Select has one of the largest collections of fine wines based on craftsmanship and tradition.
In 2004, unused office space on the upper-level of Liquor Select was converted into a spacious tasting room. No longer just a wine store, Liquor Select’s tasting room now serves as a hub for wine tastings, educational events and private functions.
More Than Just Wine
Although we specialize in fine wines, Liquor Select also carries an extensive collection of:
- Craft and imported beer. Check out our beer cave of over 850 labels for something new and something tried, tested and true.
- Scotch whisky. We’re one of the few wine stores in Edmonton to carry single malt age-statement whisky. Many of our customers are Scotch fans and we periodically host Scotch tastings throughout the year.
